It really somes it up doesn't it...Plot is premise plus a major complication that tests protaganist...very susinct.
Of course that doesn't apply to literary fiction at all, but is a good rule of thumb, I think, if you ever hope to be published in any "larger" way.
Now...I'm off to look for a plot...

OK...I take that back...I read further down in the comments where he explains the difference. It may just be that when I read literary fiction...I can't find the plot.
...and every story I've ever written doesn't...yawn.
